MEGAN MAGDEN POSTLE
A love of teaching and a connection with her students, Megan Magden Postle has been teaching voice lessons since 2000. Her teaching experience includes teaching voice for the Hartt School of Music Community Division, acting as director of music for Trinity Episcopal School, music teaching at Convent of the Sacred Heart on E 91st Street as well as teaching through her private studio in East Granby, CT, Charlotte, NC and New York City.
Megan is an accomplished vocalist and accompanist. She has served as a choral director and section leader for several churches over the country. In addition to her love of teaching, Megan has music directed and accompanied musical theater productions and programs for past 14 years. Megan began studying the piano at the age of six and voice at the age of 11. Her performing experience includes classical, musical theater, jazz and sacred music.
Megan’s teaching philosophy includes using a variety of teaching styles and methods to meet the needs of the individual student. She believes in a well-rounded musical education that includes the teaching and developing skills in the areas of ear training, sight-reading, repertoire from all musical periods and genres, improvisation and composition. She has been a vocal coach for college bound vocalists for 12 years and continues to inspire her students through organization and goal setting. Her passion is sharing the gift of music.
As a performer, Megan has enjoyed performing the roles of Rosie in Mamma Mia!, Edith in Pirates of Penzance, Sister Mary Patrick in Sister Act! and Emma Goldman in Ragtime. As a stage director, Megan is currently directing Wingspan Conservatory's summer production of Once Upon a Mattress. Some of her favorite teen and children's theatre productions she has directed and music directed have been Avenue Q, School Edition, The Sound of Music, The Lion King, Jr. and Legally Blonde, Jr.
